His limbs are built for running, leaping, and combing the streets of Upper Egypt. He likes snaking through the alleyways, often alone if he isn’t on patrol, and just looking for trouble! One can hardly miss him, his pelt is a mixture of white and light orange/brown patches that dapple his pelt, and also there is a slight hint of tabby stripe on his face. His eyes are almond shaped, but just slightly rounded, and are a stunning shade of green. When it comes to getting his pelt dirty, Jahi isn’t afraid to do so! If you’ve insulted him and/or is his family, he’ll request a duel to keep his honor. His claws are sharp, and he’s not afraid to rip a pelt off, though the sight of his own blood stained self nauseates him. PERSONALITY 381 Cocky • Arrogance is not something that was originally part of his personality. But, being the son (adopted son) of a highly respected Ma’at, it attached itself to him like an annoying tick. His ‘brother’ Onuris also has this trait, but it isn’t as big a part of his personality as it is Jahi’s. Jahi’s cocky, high-minded attitude constantly gets him into constant trouble! He doesn’t get away with a whole lot, if no one is careful trying to curb his cockiness it could carry on into being a full-fledged Ptah. Liar • Not really a professional, but Jahi can be pretty convincing when he’s trying to lie! Though, lying has always been a part of him. When his mother left him, he decided that it was better to lie, than to appear weak. Through his lying habit he managed to accomplish the art of twisting words, and promises. It is dangerous to make a wager or a bet with Jahi, if it benefits him you could lose your position. Proud • Proud as ever, Jahi tries his hardest to make sure that everyone knows that he is not ashamed of where he comes from, and the life he lives now. Sure, he may be a liar and arrogant, but that doesn’t mean that put up with Jackal-faced fools! If he feels like he needs to prove himself, he’ll challenge you. And he doesn’t like to lose; honor is a big deal to Jahi! You really don’t want to try and dishonor him. Overly Serious • He’s overly serious about everything! His training, the amount of time he spends every day doing whatever it is he is doing. Relationships are something he doesn’t care to get himself into, he would take it way to seriously. He is easily angered by most anything that should be taken seriously and isn’t. (if that makes any since.) Genuinely Cares • don’t be fooled, though! Under all of that, Jahi cares about what everyone says and/or thinks about him. He tries to hide is insecure self behind a mask that he wears so often that he almost forgets that he has this soft caring side. He knows it, and everyone else knows it! He has no blood-siblings, and as far as he knows his blood mother and father are as good as dead! At a very young age he was adopted from the rough life of living on the streets. Born, by accident you might say, to a ginger and white she-cat named Akila. When Jahi was weaned off of his mother’s milk, she taught him to hunt so that he might survive the streets. Four moons passed, Jahi never saw his mother again. At five moons, Jahi had just about hand enough, and was going to take to life with humans. After all, some of the first friends he made had converted to living with humans, and they seemed better off than they had living in the streets. “Humans are strange, Jahi. They sleep, they eat, and then they go to work. They come back at Sun-Set hour, eat and go to sleep. But they never forget to feed me! It is a good life, Jahi!” That is when he met Ma’at Odion. He was training his son, Ptah Khe Onuris, to become a Ma‘at. ‘They must serve the Praa! I wonder if they would take me.’ Not wanting to miss out on the opportunity to miss out on a chance the ancestors had graced him with, Jahi followed Odion and his son home. He commissioned himself to be their messenger, and by the time he was six moons Jahi was adopted into the family. Odion’s wife was named Neith; she was very sweet and gentle with Jahi and still is. Odion, however, treats him as if he were his own son. When it came time for him to be named Ptah Khe, which is how he was represented. Ptah Khe Jahi: Now an apprentice, Jahi has found a new sense of self confidence. Not that he wasn’t confident already, but having found a family, and being the adopted son of a highly respected Ma’at, Jahi has become cocky, proud and obnoxious. If anyone likes him, he doesn’t know it. Jahi is being trained as a Ptah, though the sight of his own blood makes him nauseous, he takes it as a weakness that can be changed. He likes getting into fights, sometimes on purpose and sometimes not, just to get himself used to the sight of his own blood.
